Course Description

Introduction

The goal of this course is to provide participants with the essential tools and knowledge needed to conduct successful searches—knowing not only where to search, but also what to look for. Understanding lost person behavior and effectively applying statistical tables to allocate resources are key elements to a well-executed search strategy.

Participants will also develop the ability to brief fellow searchers on the critical aspects of lost person behavior, ensuring that everyone on the team is aligned and informed throughout the operation.

This course is ideal for both search managers and field searchers, providing valuable insights into each role in a coordinated and efficient search operation.

Presential course only –1-day course – Theoretical with map exercises – Taught in English (Spanish available only under request) – Prerequisites: Basic experience in SAR desirable.
