This course provides rescuers with the essential knowledge required to operate safely around helicopters during SAR without adding unnecessary risk.
Participants will learn core safety principles including landing zone management, safe approaches, loading and unloading procedures, standard air-to-ground communications, and hazard recognition. Emphasis is placed on situational awareness, adherence to aircrew instructions, and conservative decision-making when helicopters are integrated into SAR operations.
