This foundational helicopter operations course equips rescuers with the essential knowledge, skills, and situational awareness needed to operate safely around helicopters in Search and Rescue (SAR) missions. Participants will learn how to understand helicopter capabilities and limitations, manage safe landing zones, communicate effectively with aircrew, and recognize and mitigate hazards — ensuring that helicopter resources enhance SAR effectiveness without adding unnecessary risk.
